Whatever your occupation or vocation is in life, the moment you gave your life to Jesus and become born again, the seed of greatness has been deposited into you. You have been born to reign in life as King. And when you reign in life, you reign over sin, sickness, diseases, lack, poverty, depression, addictions, powers of darkness and you reign over every curse. We are expected to be a success and to enjoy a life of victory.

A. The Lost Dominion
B. The secret of reigning in life
C. Why are not more Christians reigning in life? Discuss

A. The lost dominion.

In the beginning, God made man with dominion to reign in life as a king. Genesis 1:26-28 KJV
However, Adam sinned and lost the dominion mandate to the usurper- the Devil. Our ancestors brought sin into our lives.
Please note that you are not sinner because you sin, but because of Adam’s sin. We don't become sinners by committing sin but inherited sin by nature ever before we started to commit sin. Who instructed little children to sin?

Instead of reigning in life what we see is:

 Struggling
 Sicknesses
 Satanic intimidations
 Evidence of death
 Lack and poverty
 Etc.

B. The secret of reigning in life.

Romans 5:17 KJV [17] For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)
The secret of reigning in life lies with receiving everything that Jesus has accomplished for us on the cross.
The 2 instruments required to reign in life through Jesus Christ are:
• The abundance of grace
• The gift of righteousness
a) We inherited sin because of one man’s (Adam) disobedience. By the same way, we are made righteous not because we do righteous deeds, but because of one Man’s obedience on the cross.
b) Don't think that for God to bless you, you need to deserve, earn and merit God’s favour before God will bless you. God’s blessings are not based on your performance and good works. It depends on your receiving abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness.
c) His blessings over your life have to be underserved, unearned and unmerited. They are based entirely on receiving Jesus and through His finished work- abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness.
d) He cried on the cross: It is finished! Everything we required to reign in life is done by Him and was completed. The full price for our sins, sicknesses, poverty, struggling etc is already paid.
e) He paid the full price for our salvation and sat down! Read Hebrews 10:12-14 No room for high priest in the Old Testament to sit down at all.

C. Why are more Christians not reigning in life then?

Many Christians are not reigning in life today because we refused to sit down with Him and rest in His finished work. Read Ephesians 2:4-6 …”and made us to sit together with Him in the heavenly places”. We will rather depend on our self efforts to earn and qualify for God’s blessings in our life.

Believe in self- effort and diligence
Fulfilling some rules and regulations
Observations of methods and techniques
Believing you must pay ‘the price ‘ before rewards

Are we condoning laziness or carefree attitude? No. Rather do all you must do and rest in God’s grace to really bless your works. God’s way is to bless you first, and the knowledge of His blessings gives you the power to labour more abundantly. You do not labour to be blessed but we have the power to labour because we are already blessed.
Let it be your prayers from today that you stop trying to earn God’s grace but that the Holy Spirit should teach you to start depending on Jesus’ finished work to start receiving His grace to empower you to reign in life.
